OT System Lifecycle Management

OT systems — the cyber component of machine lines and plant components — are anything but static in today’s digital world. OTbase helps you to drive the change, with a collaborative workspace where everything is connected.

System modeling and design

The system modeling capabilities in OTbase are unparalleled. Think of it as ISA-95 on steroids. You can even model and analyse system process dependencies using interactive flow diagrams. This way, your process engineers get the documentation they always wanted, and it is automatically integrated with the digital OT components.

Designing new systems becomes so much easier because you can clone existing system architectures and templates — including all component relations and details such as network address, software configuration, OS version etc.

Cyber FAT

You are ready for the Factory Acceptance Test. OTbase gives you and your customer (or vendor if the roles are reversed) all the data you need to verify that software and firmware versions are according to specification.

When software and networking becomes an essential part of a machine’s functionality and efficiency, it’s important to verify that the required products and versions are installed, and configured properly. For complex machinery, this can no longer be accomplished manually.

OTbase automatically inventories hardware, software, firmware and networking of machines during the FAT. It even allows you to compare the findings automatically against requirements, making the acceptance process so much easier. Examples of audit criteria can include:

  • Correct/up to date operating system versions installed
  • Anti-virus product installed
  • Correct versions of all required applications installed
  • Test tools and file shares have been removed
  • Correct versions of controllers, actuators, and sensors installed
  • Network topology as specified

Even with asset data collected at the vendor’s site, it can be easily loaded in the asset owner’s OTbase Inventory system where all details can be inspected.

Obsolescence management

OT products usually become obsolete before the end of life of a plant or machine line. Product obsolescence must be managed in order to avoid business continuity risk. OTbase automatically keeps you informed about popular automation products that become end of life or end of support.
